NFPA Standards
Ensuring compliance with NFPA standards in your warehouse is not only important for avoiding potential fines; compliance also helps to protect your stored items and your employees in the unfortunate event of a fire. SnapShelf decking is a unique option for facilities where NFPA compliance is mandatory and an open decking design is preferable.
Code Compliant
Open area is calculated based on NFPA-13: “The area of a solid shelf is defined by perimeter aisle or flue space on all four sides. Shelves, or wire mesh, slates, or other materials more than 50 percents open and where the flue spaces are maintained shall be defined as open racks.”
Once installed, SnapShelf is always more than 50 percent open. We do not exclude the perimeter of our shelf from the calculations and we always include the support beams (as required by NFPA).

Unmatched Strength
Made from galvanized steel, SnapShelf decking offers superior strength and will not bend under the weight of your stored items when used in accordance with the product’s specifications. The unique design of SnapShelf decking features cross channels and end channels. The cross channels are attached to the end channels by a snap together mechanism. Once fastened, the design prevents the cross channel from moving in any direction. This provides a stable surface that allows products to be easily placed on and retrieved from the storage system.
