Productivity – A Letter From REB’s President
Employee productivity is paramount for a successful operation and overall customer satisfaction. There are various factors that contribute to an employee’s productivity. Making sure employers recognize, encourage and enhance these influencers will help leverage productivity while being conducive to making your company run more efficiently.
First and foremost, getting your employees motivated through gamification or skill development will boost enthusiasm and add more value to daily tasks. This can be done through implementing challenges, or game-like elements, to every day routines or encouraging employees to attend webinars or workshops for skill development.
Creating to-do lists and self-imposed deadlines are simple practices that can alleviate stress and stay on top of tasks. Google Tasks or ToDoist are free platforms that employees can utilize to manage tasks and stay organized.
Productivity is often expressed as the ratio of output to input, or getting as much as possible done in a certain timeframe. While it may seem counterintuitive, breaks or work intervals are important for productivity. Taking breaks or working in intervals allows employees to refresh and destress. It can also be linked to reducing strain or fatigue that could set in during the work day.
Keeping employees motivated with access to tools for success and development enhances workplace culture leaving them more satisfied and more productive.
