VIDEO TRANSCRIPT
Hi and welcome to this edition of Total Warehouse Tutorials. In this video will provide information on pallet flow rack.
Pallet flow rack is made up of uprights, beams, and inclined lanes of rollers or wheels that allow pallets to glide from the back loading aisle to the front picking aisle.
When the front pallet is unloaded, the next automatically glides into picking position. This process makes pallet flow rack a first-in, first-out inventory management option.
Because of this first-in, first-out process, pallet flow rack is ideal for date sensitive products such as food and beverage storage as well as freezer or cold storage applications.
Pallet flow systems provide high density storage. Typical lanes can range from 2-12 pallets deep.
Options for pallet flow rack include polycarbonate wheels and full or split steel rollers.
Polycarbonate wheels are ideal for loads over 3,000 lbs. and is the best choice for freezer storage applications.
Full and split steel rollers are ideal for light to medium weight pallet loads and provide multiple track configuration options, making it ideal for varying pallet widths.
Accessory options for pallet flow rack include entry guides, ramp stops, and “brakes” that provide speed control.
